The city of Dublin is acknowledged as one of Europe’s loveliest and liveliest capital cities. It was established as a Viking settlement on the river Liffey over 1000 years ago. In time it became an important commercial and cultural centre. In 1169 Ireland was invaded by the Anglo-Normans. This occupation lasted until 1922 when Independence was achieved.
